2006 Membership numbers remained constant through the year. Theme for the Year for President Jim Moretti was"Lead the Way"
A Powerpoint Competition has been put in place by the Club for Senior Schools to test the pupils ability in the computer world. Winning school Hunter High received their prize of a lap top donated by Club President Jim Morreti.  The event had been organised by Rotarians, Ray Porrelli, Barclay Wales and Andrew Ferguson.
Construction of our wishing well at the James Hamilton Heritage park was started and completed in June when the first donations were made.

The Club in conjunction with Field Packaging sponsored the purchase of Christmas presents for the underprivileged children of the town. In the same Christmas spirit Ward 16 at Hairmyres Hospital was again decorated by Club members.

Woman’s Aid (EK) representative Morna Hickenson received a cheque for £1000 from the Club. This money was raised at our Annual Dance. A cheque for £20,000( Part payment) was presented to Cancer Research (UK).

Over the years a fair amount of money has been gathered for the Clubs Benevolent fund with the running of our pigeon races.  These pigeon races over the summer are reported to the Club by former member George Pollock and Past President Ian Macpherson whose commentary and prize distribution are always well received.

A total of £40,000 was raised by the efforts of the Club members this year for Cancer Research.
